Comparing Fish Locaters
Hello, everyone welcome back! Today I will be talking about something other than fantasy football. As it turns out I’m also an ice fishing master and am in the market to upgrade to a new fish locater. There are many options to choose from and consider. You have your fish locators with the basics to the newest technology with all the bells and whistles. With technology and bells and whistles comes higher prices so it helps to set a price range. I set mine at $0-500 and trying to pick between two models the Vexilar FLX 20 and the Marcum M5. Below is an infographic comparison to help out anyone else in the same boat as I, hope you enjoy!
Week 2
Welcome back, everyone! Unforently team Grave Digger is at the lowest of lows 0-2 on the season. Going into week 2 I was projected to win by 20. Naturally, I don’t think I have to pick anybody up or really even try this week. Well, I underestimated my team and my opponent obviously. I was going up against my cousin’s boyfriend and the best player he has on his team is Cam Newton. I figured he wouldn’t do too much. Well… he put up 36 points. He also had the Bears defense that gave him 20 points. After those players, his next highest scorer scored eight points. Finally, my receivers showed up a combined 29 points. Also, my tight end Evan Engram put up 12 points of his own, Ezekiel Elliott also had a nice game. Much like week 1, it came down to Monday night. I was up by ten with Jordan Howard going. I was hoping I could get 100 yards and a touchdown out of him should seal a win. Well, the Bears defense decided to go off and take away my win.
For the second week in a row, Randle Cobb cost me a win. Being he was solid in week 1 I mistakenly assumed that he would do the same in week 2. If I would’ve started Will Fuller, Chris Thompson, or Marvin Jones I would’ve snuck out a win. Also, if I would’ve started Andy Dalton over Jimmy Garoppolo team graved digger would’ve breezed to victory. It is what it is and as always #Feedzeke
Week 1
Welcome back, everyone! Team Grave Digger didn’t get off on the right foot, I’m now 0-1 On the season. Week 1 I was projected to lose by one so I was confident going into Sunday. I was playing my cousin who has a decent team, come playoff time if I make it I think I can beat him. It was neck and neck the whole day, and it all came down to Monday night. I was down by 19 with two guys left to go Brandin Cooks and Marvin Jones Jr. Both were projected to score ten points apiece until Marvin Jones puts up five points and all the pressure is now on Brandin Cooks. Cooks had a decent game but it wasn’t good enough, he put up eight points and I lost by six. However, most of the loss was on me if I start Chris Thompson or Randle Cobb I blow past my cousin without having to worry about losing.
Looking at my week 1 lineup all the player in my lineup are starters, so I wasn’t going to put in a running back who isn’t going to play every down. If I would’ve done my homework I could’ve figured out that Marvin Jone Jr. is never lined up in the slot. So he’s always one on one with a safety also covering him. Knowing that I would have started Randle Cobb over him like I should have. But it is what it is.

How I Built Team Grave Digger
Welcome back, everyone! Today I am going to tell you how to build a good fantasy team in a twelve-team league. When in a twelve-team league, you’re going to wait for double-digit picks until your next selection. That being said, it is very important to get two starting running backs with your first two picks. Because running backs will score you the most points out of anybody on your team.
With my first two picks, I took Ezekiel Elliott and Jordan Howard. Then I still have plenty of good wide receivers left at my third pick. Sure, the receivers aren’t going to be leading the league in any stat categories, but they’ll probably lead their team in most stat categories. With my starting running backs in place, it was time to make sure I got a solid wide receiver. I chose T.Y. Hilton. T.Y. is a good wide receiver who should catch 8 touchdowns a year, and have around 1,000 receiving yards a season.
The fourth pick, in my opinion, is the most important pick because you can round out your team. By taking another wide receiver, backup running back or reach for a good quarterback. If you’re going to reach for a QB he should be a top five QB in the league. You will probably not have the opportunity to take a top-five QB at your next pick, most likely because someone else already did. Or, you can do what I did, and round out your team and take a second wide receiver. I took Marvin Jones Jr with my fourth pick.
Your fifth pick carries the same weight as your fourth pick. Do you go with backups? Do you reach for a tight end? Or do you choose a quarterback? Well, what I did– and I think this is where I went wrong– was fill my flex spot and took wide receiver, Brandin Cooks. Instead, I believe I should’ve taken a lower value starting running back.
Realizing my mistake, I took Chris Thompson with my seventh pick. Which was not a good one since Thompson shares snaps with Adrian Peterson. However, Thompson is the third down back and is used heavily in the passing game.
With my eighth pick, I knew it was time was to take a tight end, and not reaching to early since there are still solid tight ends left. So I took Evan Engram, who is a pass-catching tight end I was very happy with that pick.
Suddenly, quarterbacks started flying off the draft board. I know if I wanted a solid quarterback I would have to go against everything I believe in and reach for a quarterback. With my tenth pick, I took Jimmy Garoppolo and based off his week one performance, might have been a mistake. Hopefully, he can figure it out. Just as fast as quarterbacks were being drafted, defenses were right behind them. The defense I had to settle for was the Titans, which in my opinion, was good but not great.
After I filled my starting roster I began to fill my bench with sleepers. My top three sleepers that I got were tight end Charles Clay, wide receiver Randall Cobb, and wide receiver Will Fuller. These are three very explosive players and also three very inconsistent players. Hopefully, I can play the matchups right, and play them on their good weeks, and sit them out on their off weeks. With my whole roster filled and looking at my picks, I looked at who will carry my team. I looked at my running backs Elliot and Howard, both players more than capable of putting up 15 plus points a game. That being said, drafting two running backs with your first two picks will score you a lot of points. You will win a lot of games and send money your way.
Drafting Team Grave Digger
Hello everyone, my name is Aaron Mareck. I am a fantasy football fanatic. I patiently waited all summer long and… It’s finally the most wonderful time of the year football is back! Just like all of you I have been looking forward to this moment since the super bowl ended. I watched the drafted, watched highlight clips of OTA’S and training camp, and made a list of who was looking promising to have a good 2018 season. Finally, it was draft day! I’m in a 12 person league $100 a team stakes are high and we play for keeps. It also is a family league so make a stupid pick and everyone will let you know. Six o’clock rolls around and it’s draft time I have the number four pick, which is good, not great because you have to wait for 19 picks in order to pick again. That being said it’s important to get running backs early and often. With the fourth pick, I took Ezekiel Elliot #feedzeke being I had to wait for 19 picks to pick again all the studs were gone and I had to take a lower value player my second pick but that’s the way it goes.
As you can see by the rest of the picks I made, team gravedigger is going as far as Ezeakel Elittiot, T.Y. Hilton, and Brandon Cooks can carry it. Honestly, I think this team is trash but my hands were tied. I had to make sure I hade two starting running backs which means I have to settle for lower quality receivers. But as I’ve seen time and time again anything can happen in fantasy football.
